Before The Season Changes

Life transitions rarely announce themselves. More often, they arrive quietly, inviting us to pause, reflect, and gently embrace what comes next.

There is something about August that always feels a little different.

The days are still warm.

The sun still lingers in the evening sky.

And yet...

If you pay close enough attention, you can feel the season beginning to shift.

Calendars slowly begin to fill.

Store shelves trade beach towels for backpacks.

Conversations become less about vacations and more about schedules.

Without realizing it, many of us begin living in September before August has had the chance to say goodbye.

I wonder how often we do this in our own lives.

We rush toward what comes next.

The next responsibility.

The next goal.

The next version of ourselves.

Believing that peace is waiting somewhere ahead.

Rarely pausing long enough to notice the season we are already living.

Life transitions have a quiet way of inviting reflection.

Whether you're preparing for a new school year, adjusting to an empty nest, beginning a new chapter in your career, or simply sensing that life ischanging in ways you can't quite name, transitions often stir something deeper within us.

They ask us to look inward.

Not because we need to have all the answers.

But because something within us is asking to be acknowledged before we move forward.

Dear one...

Before this season changes...Before life becomes busy again...Before the evenings grow shorter...

I wonder...

Is there anything this season taught you about yourself?

Is there a moment you hope you'll remember?

Is there a part of yourself you've rediscovered?

And perhaps...

Is there something you've been carrying that no longer needs to come with you?

An old expectation.

A harsh inner voice.

The belief that you must always be the strong one.

The pressure to have everything figured out.

Sometimes healing isn't found in adding more.

Sometimes it begins by gently setting something down.

Nature understands this.

The seasons never ask the trees to hold onto leaves that no longer belong to them.

They simply trust that letting go creates space for what comes next.

Perhaps we can learn something from that.

Before this season changes, I hope you allow yourself to notice where you are.

To honor what this summer has held.

To linger a little longer in the moments that bring you peace.

To trust that you don't have to rush toward the next chapter before you're ready.

There is still time.

There is still light.

There is still this moment.

A Gentle Wish

May you find the courage to release what no longer belongs to you and the grace to welcome what comes next.

With warmth,
