Why the name New Light for a therapy practice?

Have you ever heard someone say, “[That person] brings new light into the world,” and paused to consider what that truly means? Light has long been a symbol of hope, healing, and truth; something that breaks through the darkness and reveals what’s real and worthy. In ancient times, light wasn’t just metaphorical; it was vital. Before electricity, light was life, carefully tended fires, precious lamps, and early dawns that signaled safety, direction, and the promise of a new day.

New light holds both mystery and meaning. It awakens us, softens what feels heavy, and invites us to see with new eyes. You’ve felt it if you’ve ever watched the sun rise after a long night, or noticed how light dances on the water’s surface during a moment of stillness. Light meets us in our ordinary moments and reminds us that beauty is still possible.

Tears, too, are a kind of light.  They can be seen as shimmering evidence of what we carry and what we’re ready to release. Emotional tears even contain stress-relieving hormones, biologically designed to help us heal. Just as light reveals and softens, our tears are sacred messengers of transformation.

So, when I say, “You are bringing in new light,” I believe that speaks to something sacred and true in every person. It means you carry the ability to illuminate, to heal, to awaken in yourself. And that is no small thing.

We are meant to bring New Light;

We are meant to bring New Light; to bring healing to one another, and just as importantly, to know deep within ourselves that each of us holds immense value and worth, no matter who we are. Sadly, many people have lost sight of their value and dignity due to early wounds, emotional injuries, broken or harmful relationships.

New Light Psychotherapy is a place that will foster your healing journey. I recognize that we live in a world filled with deep pain and sorrow. I am prepared to enter those tender, vulnerable places with my patients that are in need of care. Your tears are safe with me. With compassion, grace, and honesty, I will walk beside you as you work to restore peace to your heart, mind, and body. My hope for you is that through therapy, you will rise again, return to your world more whole, more assured of your worth, and more capable of bringing healing to those around you, to be a New Light in the world.

Our Style

New Light Psychotherapy will cater to the individual people that come into our offices. We will listen closely, shaping your therapy with gentle hands to reflect your story, your rhythm, your needs. Here, you are seen. You are heard. You are deeply understood.

Rooted in the wisdom of psychodynamic tradition, our work is nourished by the insights of analytic thought, attachment bonds, the language of the body, and the mysteries of the inner world.

With a relational heart, we walk beside you, not rushing, not retreating, but allowing space for the deeper unfolding, where true and lasting change takes root.

We honor the quiet ache of old wounds; the invisible scars time and experience may have etched upon your being. These burdens, often held in silence, can shape how you love, how you trust, how you live.

You are not alone.

Together, we enter these tender places with courage and compassion.
With presence. With care.
So that you may begin to remember your wholeness,
reclaim your peace,
and rise; healed, renewed, and fully alive.

Insurance

At New Light Psychotherapy we are not contracted with any insurance companies, this would be considered out-of-network therapy.  We believe in providing therapy that is guided by need, not insurance restrictions. This allows us to offer personalized, patient-centered care without the limitations often imposed by insurance companies.  If your insurance does have coverage for mental health, we are able to provide you with a superbill (this is a fancy word for invoice) with accurate coding which you will then submit for reimbursement according to your plan.

Fees

Our fee is set at $250

What Is Psychotherapy?

Did you know that in Greek, the word “psyche” refers to the mind, soul, or spirit, and “therapy” means to heal?
So at its core, psychotherapy simply means “healing the soul, heart, and mind.”
A beautiful concept, isn’t it?
