You look “together” on the outside. Inside, it feels chaotic.

You are educated, capable, and caring, yet old family patterns, codependency, grief, or new stressors keep getting stirred up. Struggles with family members pull you into rescue mode and leave you feeling drained. Parenthood and partnership might feel complicated and bring up the past. You want steadier days, clearer decisions, and a home that feels safe to exhale.

With therapy, you can begin to:

Set and keep boundaries without guilt
Respond instead of react when old triggers show up
Untangle codependency so you can support loved ones in healthy ways
Process grief and past trauma so the present feels lighter
Rebuild emotional safety and connection with your partner (couples therapy available)

Hi, I'm  Luz Cotto-Charneski, LCSW.

I provide relational, trauma-informed therapy rooted in psychoanalysis because relationships shape how we feel and function. Clients describe me as real, intuitive, and steady. I listen closely for what is said and what is not, and I value clear boundaries, safety, optimism, and love. As a bilingual and bicultural therapist, I welcome the full story of where you come from. A phrase I often share is, “Be where your feet are.”

Many of the clients I work with are busy individuals who carry a lot. They manage work, marriage, parenting, and often caregiving, yet live with an undercurrent of anxiety, sadness, or overwhelm. You may notice people-pleasing, control around money or schedules, difficulty sleeping, or a pull to fix others at the expense of yourself. You want peace in your body, clarity in your choices, and warmer connection at home.

Together, we slow down and make sense of what is happening inside and between you and the people you love. We explore your history, name patterns, and use psychoeducation, practical boundary work, and gentle visualization so change shows up in real life. If your relationship is part of the work, I also see couples. Sessions are offered in person in Stamford and online across Connecticut. If you are ready to feel more grounded and present, I’d be honored to help you take the next step.
